St. Croix 2021

We decided to jump through all the Covid hoops and take a vacation and it was so worth it ! We had an amazing time filled with beaches, snorkeling, exploring and great food. The best part is our hotel was 50 feet from the beach and we were lulled to sleep by the sound of waves crashing all night long ! That in itself would have been enough for me! The island was open, safe and following all the guidelines for CDC. Masks were required under roof but not on beaches or outside. Spirit Airlines was fantastic. They had a three step cleaning procedure and I have never smelled a fresher plane! If you need a break from the mask just have a snack or a drink ( I had a lot of snacks lol ) It was really easy to maneuver the USVI Health Site and the rapid covid test was affordable and easy. I'm so excited that we can travel again!

I want to share a really unique story from our trip to St Croix. Way up on top of the mountains in the rainforest sits a little restaurant/bar. ( We love to explore off the beaten path) Great food and you gotta try the MAMA WAMA! But wait, thats not the story .... After we finished eating they asked us if we wanted to see the pigs , I bet you've never been asked that question on a tropical island. So of course we said , "YES", Not really knowing what to expect. She said " you need to buy them a beer " Okay....(it was non alcoholic) So

we walked up a short hill and low and behold there were 6 huge pigs all begging for that beer. It was really hard picking one over the other but I went with Lilly. I handed her the

whole can, she was so excited and crushed that can and sucked down that beer! It was crazy !! My only regret is that we didn't have any cash left to buy the other pigs one! The story behind this place...50 years ago on that very spot a man dropped his can of beer and before he could pick it up the pig grabbed it and its been an island experience ever since.
